REVIS WILL YOU BE AT TRAINING CAMP? “I CAN’T ANSWER THAT RIGHT NOW”

Gulp. Can we open our eyes now? If the quote that comes to us from Peter Schwartz (WFAN) out of Jets OTA’s today (@pschwartzfan on twitter) doesn’t sound off all the alarm bells in Florham Park, it should.

With Dustin Keller talking contract now too in the final year of his deal, another standoff with Revis could overwhelm, and threaten that feel good, yet fertile team chemistry being repaired right now.

The Jets better not try and wish this away. Remember the summer of 2010 guys? Yes, a holdout occurred then. It can happen again.

A battle with 24 could be thwarted with a pre emptive strike by Jets management but that has been no sign that the club intends to head this off prior to training camp.

Resolving the case with 24 is the first big test for the Jets in 2012. One they might want to pass in a clear and concise fashion before classroom attendance is not at one hundred percent come late July..

The consequences of “Revis” could leak down to Keller’s situation and overall locker room focus and unity heading towards the fall. We are not being overly dramatic about it either.
